This islet 300 metres off the coast is a fragment of the original island that resisted the sea's erosion and today is an exclusive refuge for nesting seabirds.

Drago de San Juan del Reparo

It escaped burning in the 1706 eruption because it stands right on the edge of the drop the lava poured over, marking the exact boundary of the disaster.

Circular Área Recreativa Arenas Negras

The old town and its history
Casco histórico de Garachico

It was Tenerife's main port and wine left from here for the Americas, until in 1706 the Arenas Negras eruption filled in the bay and left it without a sea.
